About Our PTA
The Wedgwood Parent Teacher Association (PTA) welcomes you to Wedgwood Elementary
Vision and Mission Statement
Wedgwood PTA's vision is to bridge the relationship between our school
and our families by engaging and empowering our community to support our
students in achieving their full potential.
The Wedgwood PTA is committed to:
activities that enhance the joy and well-being of Wedgwood students and
staff in a way that complements and enriches our excellent learning
- Advocating on behalf of students, staff, families and the school;
- Building community within the school, and enriching the relationship between the school, families, and the wider community; and
- Encouraging the community's investment of time, energy and financial support into Wedgwood Elementary.
These statements drive the PTA’s decision making in the
various functions that the PTA serves at Wedgwood. Importantly, it is
our desire that our vision and mission complement and work in
conjunction with the vision, mission of Wedgwood Elementary.
PTA provides in-classroom support, such as funding the tutors and an
intervention specialist, helping with field day and maintaining our
unique garden, teacher supplies and playground toys.
In partnership with the school, PTA volunteers write our
weekly electronic newsletter (to suscribe send an e-mail to email@example.com);
and plan fun, educational afterschool events (ranging from Science
Night, Lunar New Year’s Celebration and annual DJ Dance).

In order to fund the activities and opportunities listed above and many, many more, the PTA needs to raise at least $120,000 annually
. To do this, the PTA needs support for three key fundraising events:
- Move-a-thon during the school day every fall
- Annual Pledge Drive (December)
- Spring Fundraising Auction and Party
Additionally, there are smaller activities that help
raise funds and build community including selling t-shirts &
sweatshirts, organizing a used children’s books sale and by shopping through other purchase links
that benefit our school.
Annually, over 200 families join our membership. By joining
the Wedgwood PTA, you add your voice to not only the hundreds of
Wedgwood families who are PTA members, but to the millions of other
national PTA members across the country who stand up as child advocates.
We have 2-3 General Membership meetings per year, attendance
is voluntary and is not a requirement for joining; come when you are
able. Joining the PTA gives you a vote when items such as our annual
budget, election of officers and standing rules are put before the
General Membership. Click here to find the membership form whenever you are ready to join.
Together as a community, we work to ensure the continuation
of all the programs and activities that make Wedgwood Elementary such a
special place, and strive to grow them and build something even better. There are so many ways to get involved!
If you have any questions or want to get more involved
please contact the PTA President or join us at our monthly PTA board
meeting. The meetings are usually the second Monday of the month but check the calendar for any changes. We are always looking for insightful input, new ideas, and people to make events a success. You are always welcome.
