Meet the Wedgwood front office
Douglas Ouellette - Principal
In 2014, Doug Ouellette was appointed Principal for Wedgwood. He was the Assistant Principal at Catharine Blaine K-8 since 2012, a position he held for two years. Prior to his Assistant Principal role, Mr. Ouellette taught in the Richland School District, as a third grade teacher, fifth grade teacher, and a music specialist. Mr. Ouellette began his teaching career in 2005 at Horse Heaven Middle School in Kennewick, where he taught sixth grade Language Arts and Social Studies. He worked several years in business and management.
His professional preparation includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from Washington State University (WSU), a Masters in Teaching with a K-8 endorsement and an Administration Certificate both earned at WSU.
As Principal, Doug’s work focuses on supporting the Mission and Vision of the school, and making sure teachers have the supports they need to provide the highest quality instruction and care to our students. Doug is passionate about a balanced approach to the elementary system that focuses both on strong academics and social-emotional growth. Doug is so appreciative of the warm welcome he and his family have received at Wedgwood, and looks forward to a great year together.
Elizabeth Anderson - Assistant Principal
Denae Gordon - Administrative Secretary
Denae is new to Wedgwood but not to the job of Administrative Secretary. She served as the Admin Secretary at both Catharine Blaine and Roxhill Elementary. She also has worked as a Clerical Substitute, Attendance Secretary and Fiscal Clerk. The Admin Secretary is responsible for the building’s payroll, monitoring and reconciling the budget, making sure substitutes are in place when staff are absent, Building Use Permits, ordering supplies, magazine subscriptions, field trips and of course, taking care of our little Marmots when they come into the office. She is so excited to be here at Wedgwood!
