Let’s Get Ready to ... MOVE-A-THON! October 28

Move-a-Thon art winner 2016 What is the Wedgwood Move-a-Thon?: The Move-a-Thon is the first of three PTA fundraisers for the year, and is the only one where kids do all of the fundraising! Every student will participate in this fun event by running, walking, and moving around the 1/8th mile track on the Wedgwood playground for 20 minutes. Each student will set an individual goal of laps to complete, and then collect pledge money per lap or by flat donation. Please help your student get pledges from family, friends, and neighbors. Many organizations have matching fund programs which can double, or even triple, your donations.

Pledge packets came home last week: You should have received an envelope for collecting pledges before we all “move" on October 28. Record your donations on the pledge form on the front of the envelope. Extra envelopes are available in the office. Have your child bring the envelope to school on October 28. Students will then have one week to collect the pledge money and turn it in to their teacher on Nov. 4.

Move-A-Thon t-shirt art winner chosen: Every year, Wedgwood students wear t-shirts designed by a 5th grader. Congratulations to this year’s winner, Emerson Lee, whose design will be on our t-shirts and communications. A big thank you to all the 5th graders who participated in the contest.

Please volunteer here to make the Move-A-Thon a success! Questions? Contact Kristen Gilbertson or Rachel Motto.
