    September 15, 2017

    Hello Wedgwood Families,

Welcome to the first edition of the Wedgwood principal updates!  I will be sending these out monthly to keep you informed about the great work that is happening here at Wedgwood and any important updates and information from the school.  Next Thursday, September 21st from 6:00-8:00 pm will be our Curriculum Night for all grades.  Please join us at Curriculum Night to learn about this year’s curriculum, classroom procedures, and other information from your child’s teacher.  I was also informed that our Curriculum Night falls on the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.  The date for Curriculum Night was established last spring by the school.  I apologize for this oversight and we will be sure to avoid important religious holidays for future school events.  The Wedgwood teachers and I will develop plans to give important information to any family that is unable to attend Curriculum Night.

The agenda for Curriculum Night is:

    6:00-6:25 – Session 1 (in your child’s classroom)

    6:25-6:30 – Break/Travel Time

6:30-6:55 – Session 2 (if you need to attend another classroom’s session)

    6:55-7:00 – Break/Travel to cafeteria

7:00-7:25 – Mr. Liu’s presentation to Wedgwood Families in the cafeteria

    7:25-8:00 – PTA General meeting

*If you have one child here at Wedgwood, feel free to attend the 6:30-6:55 session and then head to the cafeteria for the presentation

Our teachers and students have been working hard to establish routines and practice procedures and expectations in the classroom and around the school.  This morning we had a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) assembly where Ms. Smith (Assistant Principal) and I introduced our new expectation posters (see below)!  The Wedgwood PBIS Team worked hard to get these ready and copies of the posters will be displayed around the school.  Thank you for being a valuable partner with our school!

    Respectfully,

    Steve Liu

    Principal
